Frequently Asked Questions

What is graze.social?

Graze is a tool to easily build, customize and publish your own feeds for Bluesky. Any Bluesky user can create a feed, and share it with others who can subscribe to that feed. A feed might be topic specific (e.g. local politics in Bristol), or relate to a group of users (e.g. all skeets from PGA golfers), or relate to a hashtag (e.g. all skeets tagged #muppets). Graze is an easy, powerful way to build those feeds.

What do I need to get started?

You'll need to sign up here with your Bluesky username and an app password. Note: this is not your Bluesky account password, but a unique-one time password to authorise the use of your Bluesky account. You can generate an app password in your Bluesky app under Settings/Privacy & Security.

Cool, I've signed up, but I don't know what to do next?

Awesome, welcome aboard. Graze is very new and very fast-moving, but we're very happy to help. To start with we have some great guides that will help you learn how to make a feed, and learn what each of our nodes do. Start there, and have a play around. You can create and edit your feed as much as you like before publishing it to Bluesky, so try anything. If you need more help, want to chat about your feed, or anything to do with Graze, come and join our friendly Discord server.

I already built a feed somewhere else, do I have to start from scratch?

Absolutely not! At the top of your dashboard, you'll find a migration feature. Bring it across!

My friend made a graze feed and I want to use that as my template. Can I?

Yes, you can! Get your friend to make their feed public for remixing (either permanently, or just for a little while) and you'll be able to use that as your starting point.

I've built a feed and it's not working, who do I complain to?

Come on, now. That's not the vibe! We'd love to help you fix it. Start by working your way through this guide to Testing and Fixing Your Feed. If that doesn't solve things for you, come across to our Discord server and you'll find a whole bunch of people answering questions in a variety of support channels. It will help if you bring the url of your feed in Graze, and a link to the post that's breaking your feed.

That's awesome, but my feed is ... uh ... definitely not safe for work

No problem. We have an age-restricted channel for that.

Graze doesn't do this cool thing I thought of, where should I tell you about that?

We love feature requests and future roadmap suggestions. Right now the crew is paddling just to stay afloat, but we definitely will get to it. We'd love you to add feature requests here.

I'm a tiktok refugee, is this all text all the time?

No! Bluesky has introduced its own vertical video format, and several other developers are working on video-based apps. If you want to play around with video-only feeds, head to the Discord for help.

Is there a creator fund? How do I get my bag?

Monetization is coming, and it's important to us. Head to the Discord monetization channel to learn about launch plans, and if you work at a brand who might be interested in running sponsored content on feeds, tell us about it here

Who are you people, and are you going to sell this to a billionaire?

We're a tiny crew of passionate founders based in the US. Graze Social is a public benefit corporation (for profit, but with the aim of making a positive societal impact). We are going to be raising some outside money to help us scale, but there are no billionaires on our roadmap. Here is our mission statement.

How can I help?

If you solve a problem, find a cool way of doing something, encounter something that's a bit tricky or just get stuck, we'd love to hear about it in the Discord so we can improve the guides for everyone.
